Lorenzo Cain is a professional baseball center fielder for Kansas City of Major League Baseball. He is also known for his defensive prowess for which he was named the 2014 ALCS MVP. Cain later won the World Series Championship with the Kansas City Royals in 2015.

Lorenzo Cain was born on April 13, 1986 in Valdosta, Georgia. His father passed away when he was only four years old. He was later raised by a single mother, Patricia, and grew up with his brother in the Georgia area.

Lorenzo Cain began playing baseball during his sophomore year at Madison County High School in Florida. After that, the Milwaukee Brewers selected Cain in the 17th round of the Tallahassee Community College amateur draft.
Lorenzo was promoted to the Class A West Virginia Power in 2006 and was chosen to the Mid- and Postseason All-Star Partners of the South Atlantic Leagues. In 2007, he was promoted to the Class A Advanced Brevard County Manatees.
Lorenzo currently plays for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball. Additionally, he received the 2014 ALCS MVP award due in part to his defensive play. Lorenzo also won two Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Awards for outfielders and a Fielding Bible Award.
