The model was born Mary Laurence Hutton on November 17, 1943 in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. She was born as the daughter of Lawrence Bryan Hutton and Minnie Hutton, however, after World War II her mother divorced her father in 1945. Thereafter she lived with her mother in Miami and later in Tampa , where she spent most of her early years.
