The young woman was born as Laura McKeeman on October 2, 1988 in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. Laura grew up fishing in ponds, which in elementary school allowed her to become a marine biologist. She told the Tampa Bay Times, “I was always picking up fish in the gulf. I wanted to be a marine biologist all through elementary school,”

After her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, Laura became fascinated with geography and weather. After high school, she took up another interest dance. She thought about attending ballet school but later settled on the University of Florida where she studied broadcast journalism. She worked on the school radio during her studies.

Laura started her career as a sports reporter at Fox Sports as a sideline reporter. He later provided on-the-ground reporting for Fox College Sports’ coverage of the 2012 NCPA National Paintball Championship in Lakeland, Florida. In the summer of 2014, she joined ESPN and the SEC Network.

The talented Laura got married to a professional baseball player, Josh Rutledge in 2013. They have been together ever since. The couple do not have children at the moment, but in the near future they may have plans to have some for sure.
