MultiChoice, organisers of Big Brother Naija recently announced the date for the commencement of the 2022 edition of the reality TV Show. According to them, the show will commence another season on July 23 and 24, 2022 as a double launch show. In anticipation of the show, we have compiled the latest BBnaija news and Update
Recall that the auditions for the BBNaija 2022 took place from 15th May 2022 to 30th May 2022. Over 40,000 people auditioned for the show, but only 26 were qualified and selected for the house.
The organizers are yet to reveal the details of the housemates, however, fans have been told to expect a line-up of more engaging tasks, unpredictable twists, and Big Brother’s wit.
This year will see the return of the ‘fan-favourite ‘Ninjas’ and a live studio audience. In past editions, fans of different housemates were invited to the live eviction show but it was halted due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Also, there will be no SMS voting for the forthcoming season. The organizers said fans will vote for free using BBNaija’s official website and mobile apps. This means the number of votes each subscriber will have will be determined by their subscription packages.

Grand Prize for BBNaija 2022
According to reports on the latest BBnaija news and Update, the winner of this year’s edition will walk away with N50 million cash prizes and another N50 million worth of prizes from the sponsors. In the previous season, the organizers gave away a grand prize of N90 million the highest in the show’s history.
Katung Aduwak, the winner of the first season of the show went home with the grand prize of $100,000. Efe Ejeba who won the second season of the show in 2017 got the grand prize of N25m.
Miracle Igbokwe got N25m, a brand new Hyundai Tuscon SUV and a sponsored vacation trip for winning in 2018. Mercy Eke, took home N30m, an Innoson SUV, a trip to Dubai and other prizes for winning in 2019
The fifth season of the show was held in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. It was won by the 28 Rapper, Laycon, who took home N30m, an Innoson Motors SUV worth N30m, a two-bedroom apartment, a trip to Dublin, Ireland, and other prizes.
