After Bonnie’s death, he was succeeded by his daughter Monica, but Mullen dropped out of classes and began performing on his own. Her mother died in a car accident in 1976.

DRUM KIT LARRY MULLEN JR.
Mullen used the money he had saved and bought a drum kit, made by a Japanese toy company, with the help of his aunt, which was sold by his sister’s friend Cecilia. He installed the kit in his room and often his parents allowed him to play. His father then took him to the Post Office Workers Band, which along with marching band songs played orchestral compositions with percussion. Mullen’s first film was in a Phil Joanou film called Phil Joanou’s Entropy where he starred alongside Bono, his costar. He played a thief in Man on the Train, which starred Donald Sutherland. In 2011, Man on the Train was released filmed in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. It was announced the following year that Mullen would appear in his second film, A Thousand Times Goodnight, starring Juliette Binoche. The film won the Special Grand Jury Prize at the Montreal World Film Festival on September 3, 2013.
