LaMelo Ball has relied on the training regime created by his father to further his fledgling career. When he was about 4 or 5 years old, his dad got him hooked on the bars, dips, and pull ups. Since it was just a fun competition he had with his brothers, he never got bored of training.

When he turned 12, his father added free weights to his workout regime as well. In addition to bodyweight exercises, he also did strength exercises such as bench presses and military presses. LaVar also made him do sprints uphill and downhill. The hill climbed for miles. In all, he trained 5 days a week under the careful guidance of his father.
