L’Algérino , whose real name  is Samir Djoghlal , born on May 2, 1981in Marseille, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, is a French rapper of Algerian origin. A childhood friend of rappers Soprano, Alonzo and JUL, L’Algérino was discovered in 2001 by rapper Akhenaton, a member of the group IAM, who signed him to his label 361 Record and in which he published his first album,  Les Derniers Serons les premiers , in June 2007. In parallel, he published a second album entitled  Mentalité pirate .

The young man is immersed very early in the world of music, the Algerian was not destined at all to rap at the start. It will be some time before he thinks of a career in music. Little by little, L’Algérino takes the fabric on stage and connects the concerts. During one of them, he met the rapper Sinik, with whom he befriended. These albums are highly appreciated by the rap and hip-hop community for their original and dynamic rhythm.

Samir Djoghlal was born on May 2, 1981 in Marseille, from Algerian Chaoui parents from Khenchela, and he grew up in the Savine district (Quartier Nord). Despite the fact that he began to play music at an early age, he confides that his initial vocation was not that of rap, since after obtaining his scientific baccalaureate at Lycée Saint-Exupéry (Marseille), he decided to train as an engineer or as a mathematics teacher. In fact, it was later that he devoted himself more to rap.

At the age of 25, L’Algérino officially becomes the first artist from Marseille to sign an independent Parisian label, Six-O-Nine. He was truly revealed to the public the same year (in 2007) with his second album entitled Mentalité pirate, which was a great success. Among the most listened to titles are Fleur fanée The desire to conquer or Between two flames.

In its early days, L’Algérino was produced by Hichem Gombra and Hafid Fédaouche (HF Production), and with them he recorded his first two-title EP entitled T’sais c’est qui cause? where the instrumental was notably produced by Soprano from Psy 4 de la rime. In 2001, he was discovered by Akhenaton, a member of the group IAM, who signed him to his label 361 Records.

This is how with his first album, L’Algérino, reached 32nd place in the French albums chart where he remained at the top for 24 consecutive weeks. With his third album, Mirror Effect, he reached number 20 on the French charts. The success continued with his next two albums, C’est correct and Oriental Dream, which reached number 26 and 20 respectively in the French charts.
