The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Alabi Abolore, made this disclosure at a meeting in Ilorin on Monday.
Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) called off its eight-month-old strike recently and students are expected to return to their various institutions of learning, as many schools have resumed activities.
In a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mansurat Amuda-kannike, and made available today, the ministry called on students travelling to Northern States to make themselves available in order to benefit from the scheme.
The statement read: “The Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led Administration is extending the dividends of democracy to Kwara State Students in tertiary institutions across the country.”
Abolore further explained that the affected students are expected to be at the Ministry of Tertiary Education in GRA, Ilorin on Saturday, October 29, 2022 by 6:30am for a brief documentation exercise.
The commissioner assured the students that the Ministry is rounding up disbursement plans as an online portal registration is set to be made available to the prospective beneficiaries.
“On behalf of my Ministry, parents/guardians and great Nigerian students, we say a very big thank you, Your Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for yet another awesome magnanimity and show of sincerity in taking Kwara of our dream to the promised land”, Abolore said.
