KING AFRICA: HIS AGE AND REAL NAME OF THE SINGER
Born in 1960 in the city of Buenos Aires when he came into the world under the name of Alan Duffy, although it was not until the late 90s and early 2000s when he rose to fame in Spain.
In Argentina he began in the 90s to stand out as a singer who is not the one we all know today. The first King Africa had problems with the record company and decided to leave for the project, so Alan Duffy took over, managing to succeed again. El camaleón was his first success outside of America, becoming the anthem of the Tenerife Carnival in 1997.
A year later, taking advantage of the momentum of that success, he decided to tour Spain to present his music, something that would completely change his life. Since landing in Europe hits such as La Bomba, Comadre Compadre , El Humahuaqueño and Salta ( remix 2001 ) would arrive.
His queen in festivals and parties of all kinds would be consolidated by recording a new version of ‘La Macarena’ with Los del Río and making his own version of ‘Paquito el chocolatier’.
Since then, his songs have become regular themes on reality shows such as ‘Big Brother’, ‘Survivientes’ and ‘GH VIP’. He came to those programs as contestants in 2015, when he entered the famous house of Guadalix de la Sierra.
Although it may seem that he has disappeared, the truth is that he continues to publish new songs and tour Spain. He even stopped by the Happy FM studio to present one of his hits together with DKB.
