Early life and education of Kid Rock
Born Robert James Ritchie in Romeo, Michigan, he is a US citizen and considered white due to his ethnic origin. Kid Rock is the son of William Ritchie who worked as a car salesman and Susan Ritchie.
He has two sisters and a brother. She made headlines in 2001 when it emerged that he had been dating Pamela Anderson, whom she later married in 2006, divorcing five months later. The first single, ‘All Summer Long’, is out now on Atlantic Records. Kid Rock lives with his 15-year-old son in Charleston, Michigan.
Kid Rock was interested in rap music since his childhood. At that time, he learned the art of break dancing and participated in several talent search shows in Detroit. While attending Romeo High School, he DJed at various parties. To perform at basement parties, he teamed up with Bo Wisdom of Groove Time Productions in Michigan. Kid Rock began an on-off, ten-year relationship with Kelley South Russell , his classmate while in eighth grade. Russell gave birth to Ritchie’s son, Robert James Ritchie Jr. in 1993. The duo raised three children while living together, but Ritchie discovered that one of them was not his own, leading the couple to separate at the end of 1993. He raised his son as a single father.
He reportedly began dating model Jaime King in 2000. He began dating Pamela Anderson in 2001. They got engaged in 2002 but ended their relationship in 2003.
In 2005, Ritchie was accused of assaulting a DJ at a strip club. In July 2006 they got married when the news of Pamela’s pregnancy was revealed. He divorced his wife Pamela after five months of marriage.
Anderson filed for divorce from Ritchie in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences on November 27, 2006. Ritchie later claimed that the divorce was due to Anderson openly criticizing his mother and sister in front of his son.
