- Jessica Taylor (2007–Present) – Pietersen first met singer Jessica Taylor, who is the former member of Freedom X, on a sort of blind date at Zuma, a Japanese restaurant in central London. Knowing her personal trainer and manager, he managed to get her number and eventually asked her out for dinner. After a long period of dating, they were married in December 2007 in a wedding at St Andrew’s Church in Castle Combe. His former teammate and English fast bowler Darren Gough served as his best man. In May 2010, she gave birth to her son, Dylan Blake. Pietersen toured the West Indies with the national team and returned home to celebrate the birth of their first child with his wife. In December 2015, they welcomed their daughter Rosie. He said goodbye to Melbourne Stars to be with Taylor.

In July 2005 he made his first international testing appearance in the acclaimed Ashes series against Australia. Although his side lost the match, he managed a decent debut, scoring in both innings for half a century.

Kevin Pietersen works regularly to keep fit. He’s even hired a personal trainer and turned his backyard into a gym. His training includes strength training, functional training, and other sports-related exercises.
One such workout shared by him began with dumbbell curls, followed by medicine ball floor slams and running over drill ladders. He then did triceps and push-ups, followed by sprints and brief shadow boxing. The workout also included push-ups, mountaineers, battle ropes, and jump squats.

- In addition to cricket, he also played tennis, hockey and squash in his youth. However, he was unable to play rugby due to a forearm injury sustained when he was 11 years old.
- Beginning his cricket career at the age of 17 with Natal’s B-Team, he was primarily considered an off-spinner and lower-order tough hitter.
- Shortly after playing for Natal’s B-Team for two seasons, he played for English club Cannock CC as an overseas player for 5 months in 2000. He helped them win the local competition.
- While playing for Cannock CC he lived in a single room above the squash court and had to work at the club bar for financial support.
- Pietersen, disappointed with the South African quota system which required club teams to add 4 black players to the team, received a call from Clive Rice to play for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. He accepted the offer as he also wanted to play under Rice’s tutelage.
- Although he scored many runs for Nottinghamshire and caught the attention of the English national selectors. His last season after the side’s relegation was ridiculous as he wanted to be released from his contract but management were not interested. He even had a public falling out with team captain Jason Gallian.
- During the 2004-05 England tour in South Africa, Pietersen was met with hostility from the local crowd, who saw him as a traitor for leaving his native country.
- During the fifth game of his debut Ashes series, he became the first England batsman to hit seven sixes in a Test innings. In the second inning, he hit a crucial 158 to fend off Australian bowlers.
- In 2006 he was awarded the prestigious MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for services to cricket. It was noted that he was being honored for his role in helping England win the Ashes for the first time in more than 20 decades.
- In 2010 he played a starring role in EnglandICC World Twenty20 Victory as they won their first major ICC tournament. At the end of the tournament, he was declared a Player of the Series.
- In May 2012 he declared he had retired from ODI international cricket. He also announced his retirement from International Twenty20 Cricket that same year.
- During a 2012 tour of South Africa, he was embroiled in a controversy when it emerged that he had shared derogatory text messages about captain Andrew Strauss and team coach Andy Flower with South African players.
- After the 2013/14 Ashes tour, he was dropped from the England squad due to his poor relationship with his team-mates and allegedly toxic behaviour. He was never selected for the national team again.
