Personal trainer

Kevin is a big fan of changing things to avoid hitting a plateau and letting the body guess. He also tries to emphasize the importance of gaining heavyweight in muscular hypertrophy while maintaining high volume. From time to time, he recommended testing maximum strength with low-volume exercises once a lifter had enough work under their belt.

Kevin is best known for his massive 24 inch arms at their peak, for which he always performs the same routine as he has found works best for him.

biceps

  • Cable Curl: 4 sets of 6-8 reps
  • Concentration rotation: 4 sets of 6-8 reps
  • Barbell Curl: 4 sets of 6-8 reps
  • Seated Dumbbell Curl: 4 sets of 6-8 reps

As for his diet, Kevin dislikes cheating meals and is not a proponent of a traditional year-round bulking/cutting routine. He dislikes eating red meat protein and tries to avoid it as much as possible, eating chicken and fish. When slicing, Kevin eats a very small amount of carbohydrates and adds spices and sauces to keep the flavor from becoming bland. During his contest prep, he kept it simple and effective by following a simple diet plan.

  • Meal 1 – 2 whole eggs, 10 egg whites, 1/2 oatmeal
  • Meal 2-5 – 1 cup of boiled rice, 340 g chicken breast or fish
  • Eat 5-12 egg whites or a whole steak

  • Personal Offer – “I give everyone a chance.”

Kevin Levrone The fact

  1. He lost both of his parents to cancer at a young age. This made Kevin very health conscious from the start as he feared the same thing would happen to him if he didn’t take care of bad habits.
  2. He became interested in training after noticing the changes in the size and condition of his cousin’s body upon returning home from the military.
  3. Kevin Levrone earned his Pro IFBB card in 1991 after winning the NPC Finals competition.
  4. If he won a pro show, he was automatically eligible to compete in the IFBB’s Mr. Olympia competition, which was the most prestigious competition for bodybuilders. Kevin placed 2nd in 1992.
  5. In 1993, while training, he tore both major and small pectoral muscles and required 2 surgeries to repair the damage. The first operation lasted 8 hours, but he contracted an infection afterwards, which forced the surgeons to perform the second.
  6. His best bench press was a raw 1-rep 500-pound workout with no equipment, just a strap to prevent muscle tears or hernias.
  7. In 1994, Kevin showed the genetic potential that he later became known for. After major surgeries, he managed to get back into competitive shape in the 1994 Mr. Olympia in just 2 months and finished 5th.
  8. Bodybuilders typically train year-round for a show, but Kevin was blessed with incredible testosterone receptors that allowed him to pack on between 20 and 40 pounds of muscle in a couple of months.
  9. He would stop working out completely, get a “Dad-Bod”, and focus on other things like music. Kevin would then “grow into a show” in about 5 months, emerging as big and tattered as competitors who never stopped training, and gaining high rankings.
  10. His genetics and muscle memory were the reasons he was able to return at the age of 51 for the 2016 Mr. Olympia , after just 5 months of serious training.
  11. What made his comeback even more shocking was the fact that he hadn’t competed and barely trained in more than a decade. In addition, the age of 51 was far from the peak strength, flexibility, elasticity and low body fat potential of the human body.
  12. After finishing last in Mr. Olympia 2016, he revealed he was forced to train with a knee injury, which prevented him from training the legs seriously. He also injured his pectoral muscle, although he still managed to rebuild the large chest that was one of his trademarks.
