He has given praiseworthy performances in both the toughest dramas and the wildest comedies. She adapts to any role that is entrusted to her. Awarded numerous times, this veteran actor is one of those who has known how to age best, cinematically and physically.

Kevin Kline was born in Saint Louis in 1947. He studied at Indiana University and then attended the prestigious Juilliard School of acting in New York. In 1972 he began a tour in a theater company, where he performed from Shakespeare’s works to different musicals. These performances earned him two Tony Awards, the equivalent of an Oscar in the theater world. He also worked on various television productions .

In 1981 he made the leap to Hollywood to try his luck. And boy did she have it! As soon as she arrived in the city of stars, she won the leading role in Sophie’s Decision (1982), a hard drama where she shares the bill with the chameleonic Meryl Streep . Her performance earned him his first Golden Globe nomination. But this was just the beginning. Since then, Kline would become a well-known and appreciated actor, which is why he began to get interesting jobs. In 1987 he was placed under the command of Richard Attenborough in the filming of Cry Freedom , where the actor finished proving his worth for the dramatic genre.

Unsurprisingly, her first and only Oscar came soon. The Academy awarded her the award in 1988 for her supporting role in A Fish Called Wanda , a comedy about the adventure of four rogue thieves who orchestrate the theft of valuable diamonds. A year later he married actress Phoebe Cates , with whom he has two children.

Kline starred in the 1991 drama Grand Canyon, The Soul of the City . A year later, he returned to Attenborough’s command in the biopic Chaplin , a film about the life of the mythical actor and comedian Charles Chaplin . The actor repeated in the dramatic genre with a role in The Ice Storm (1997) by Taiwanese Ang Lee . In 1999 he returned to the western – he had previously triumphed in the genre with  Lawrence Kasdan ‘s stupendous Silverado (1985) – and starred with Will Smith in the unsuccessful Wild Wild West .

His film career has always been steady, and Kline has never taken a break. In 1999, she returned to interpret a work of Shakespeare, this time in the cinema, in William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream , together with great companions such as Michelle Pfeiffer . She completely changed register again in 2004 when she starred in the musical De-Lovely , a biopic of the famous composer and pianist Cole Porter . Two years later, she was a supporting actor in two very different comedies: The Pink Panther , a version starring Steve Martin , and The Last Show , director Robert Altman ‘s last film .

In 2010, the actor and director Robert Redford entrusted him with a role in The Conspiracy , a drama that narrates the events after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. In recent years, she has been seen in several lower-level comedies: in 2012, she appeared in Sin Compromiso and Por fin solos .and a year later he starred in Plan en Las Vegas , a veteran version of The Hangover (2009), where he had fun alongside Morgan Freeman , Robert de Niro and Michael Douglas . His last appearance was in the movie Ricki (2015).

Kline is an actor who easily adapts to any genre and who, except on occasion, knows how to choose good roles. He declares himself in love with the theater, and, whenever he has the opportunity, he does not hesitate to return to work on stage.
