Kendji Girac , Kendji Maillé of his real name, born July 3, 1996 in Périgueux in the Dordogne is a French singer and guitarist. Kendji Girac created the buzz in 2013 with his gipsy cover of “Bella”, which also allowed him to be selected for the third season of “The Voice”. The competition trophy in his pocket, he defended, from the summer of 2014, his “Color Gitano” with a first EP followed by an eponymous album.

Biography and Lifestyle of Kendji Girac

Of Catalan gypsy origin, Kendji Maillé was born on July 3, 1996 in Périgueux, Dordogne. ”  Girac  ” is the name of his mother. He spent his childhood “in a caravan”, summers on the road, sedentary winters in the Dordogne. He left his studies at sixteen after college, became a pruner in his father’s business and he devoted himself to his first passion, music.

At the age of 8, Kendji Girac already sings accompanied by his father on the guitar. The family, which belongs to the Traveler community, spends several months a year on the road. Schooled through family trips, Kendji dropped out of school at 16, then worked as a pruner with his father and devoted himself to his passion, music. Convinced of his talent, his uncle uploads a video on Facebook in which his nephew takes up a title of Master Gims.
