KELLY TILGHMAN: BIOGRAPHY, FAMILY, EDUCATION

Tilghman was born on August 6, 1969 in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was born as the eldest daughter Kelly Myrtle Beach to parents Phil and Kathryn Tilghman. Her father had been mayor of North Myrtle Beach for 14 years. Her mother had also worked as a media salesperson and a professional shag dancer at the National Dance Hall of Fame. She has four siblings, but their identities have not been revealed in the media.

Their family owned Gator Hole golf course for 22 years (1980-2002). Also, she was interested in golf from an early age, hence, she spent most of her time at this golf course. Apart from this, she had also been interested in playing other sports like basketball and football. Later, she received a scholarship to Duke University where she played golf. Additionally, she had won the 1990s Lady Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman University. From college, she earned a B. KELLY TILGHMAN: CAREER AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN LIFE

The Golf Channel hired Kelly in 2007, plus she signed a 15-year contract with the PGA Tour. The deal said she would work on the first three events of this year, weekday coverage of all tours, and full coverage of fall series and opposite-court events. Beginning that same year, she began working with senior analyst Nick Faldo to form the broadcast team for PGA Tour Network telecasts.

However, after spending 22 years with the Golf Channel and working in various roles, she left the channel in 2018. Prior to joining the Golf Channel, she had been a professional golf player from 1992 to 1996. The former touring pro was suspended for two weeks due to her criticism for noticing Tiger Woods on the 2008 PGA Tour while responding to her co-presenter Nick Faldo’s joke about golfer Woods. The incident brings together many controversies in which Golf Magazine ran a story, describing a noose. However, after the incident Kelly streamed on Tiger games like Tiger Woods PGA Tour ’09, 10 and 11 video games.
