1. Nishikori started playing tennis when he was five years old.
2. In 2001, Kei was the winner of the All Japan Tennis Championships for Kids.
3. At the age of 14 he joined the IMG Academy in Florida. When Kei arrived in Florida, he couldn’t speak English.
4. In 2011, Kei played in a match against MichaelChang (who began coaching Kei in 2014) in Tokyo, Japan. The money collected during the game was used for the people who were victims of an earthquake.

6. In July 2006, Kei was ranked No. 7 on the world junior ATP list.
