Business Motivation

One of the most fundamental factors that helps you to keep going forward with your goals and objectives is your motivation. It’s a resource that all entrepreneurs require in difficult times, but only a handful know how to activate it successfully when they need it most.
You’ve undoubtedly worked out that motivation is a finite resource. Entrepreneurs are in charge of everything that occurs in their company. Your duty is to keep an eye on everything, all of the time, including your customers, workers, costs, and even your competitors.

In this post, I’ll discuss a few strategies for becoming and staying motivated as a business owner.

Concentrate on your goals

Goals are vital, as we all know. How would we know when we’ve accomplished anything if we don’t establish goals? We need targets in business, just as we need in life.
Having a goal in mind is organically motivating for me. Have you achieved all of your previous business objectives? Then it’s time to make some new goals that are even more ambitious than the previous ones.

Keep in mind that as circumstances change and reality sets in, corporate goals might become changing targets. Allowing indecision to cripple yourself or your business is something you must avoid.

Cultivate behaviors that empower you

You may not realize it, but your habits, not your talents or the surroundings, have the greatest impact on your success. A habit is a repeatable behavior that can be altered without losing motivation.
Here are some empowering practices that can help you succeed as a business owner:
• Eat well – avoid GMOs, junk food, sugar, and any other items that can impair your physical and mental abilities.
• Exercise on a regular basis – many entrepreneurs work out first thing in the morning, before starting their most critical responsibilities.
• Kill procrastination — as soon as you recognize you’re procrastinating, utilize all of your resources to combat it before it becomes routine.
• Meditate – take a break from time to time to enable your mind to relax. Not only will your motivation improve, but so will your energy, attention, and work.
All of the items on this list are necessary for living a healthy, motivating, and productive life. You can’t be inspired unless you have the strength and power to do things.

Pursue a higher goal

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you’ll need to set higher goals and meet higher expectations. In the life of a successful businessperson, there is always a greater purpose.
Take Elon Musk, for example. Musk intends to turn mankind into an interplanetary species by building spaceships that would transport them to Mars. Google, Amazon, and Facebook all want to make the world a better place. They want to make it feasible for everyone to experience things that before were only available to a select few.
These are just a few examples of incredibly successful firms that aren’t solely focused on making money. You can discover the motivation and inspiration to attain your goals if you have a larger purpose in mind.

Build Business Connections

No company or entrepreneur can exist in a vacuum. A business’s ability to connect with consumers, vendors, employees, and other entrepreneurs is critical to its success. It’s also energizing. The relationships I create when networking are one of the things that keep me excited about my career. [1] Effective networking is all about giving and taking, which means you can only get as good as you give. Others will reciprocate if you are giving with your thoughts, ideas, and connections.

Wins should be celebrated, and losses should be learned from

Too often, business owners fail to recognize and learn from their successes and failures. That’s a shame, because winning and losing are two well-known secrets of entrepreneur motivation. You should be treating them as motivators if you aren’t already.
Take stock of everything you’ve accomplished when you’re feeling low on motivation. Reward yourself by patting yourself on the back and basking in the glow of accomplishment. That pause could be all you need to spur you on to greater accomplishment.

10 Entrepreneurs & Small Business Owners Share Tips on How to Stay Motivated

Gregg Murset, CEO and Founder of My Job Chart

“Instead of doing things the same way as everyone else, have fun and find ways to be disruptive in your industry. Say things differently. Do things differently. Turn left when everyone else turns right. Besides standing out, you might also hit the one thing that turns a rough patch into a launching pad.”

Jeffrey Milano, CEO of The People’s Chemist

“Work like you only have a dollar and you never have to worry about anything.”

Mark Aleks, Co-Founder of Zaca Recovery Patch

“We stay motivated through rough times by reading a lot about founders of successful companies. When you read things like how Richard Branson was almost turned upside down by a 3 million euro overdraft, you realize your rough times are minuscule.”

Kelly Fallis, CEO of Remote Stylist

“When you’re overwhelmed pick the biggest/hardest task that will have the most impact, crank the tunes and dive in for an uninterrupted evening session — I love the 10 – 2am session for minimal interruptions personally – odds are with total concentration you’ll make huge progress and then the rest will fall into place and seem much easier.”

Shanna Kurpe, Founding Partner of Grasp

“Successful business owners don’t sit around and wait for motivation. Who has time for that? Instead, they choose to work on their business, everyday..”

Linda Gomez, Owner of Fullips

“Education is our motivator! Continuing to learn about our particular industry, and reading the success stories of those that have come before us, always leads to new ideas for improving upon our current practices. “

Carrie Devorah, Founder of The Center for Copyright Integrity

“The best motivation is finding a Groove that works and keeps you moving forward. The groove can be anywhere. So listen… try and know that each step is a success.”

Jamar Cobb-Dennard, Sales Recruiter at Hire Sales

“Feed your brain by reading and attending seminars. They almost always inspire new thoughts that you can take back to your business.”

Bill Treasurer, Founder and Chief Encouragement Officer at Giant Leap Consulting

“Use Fear to Your Advantage: Rudolph Giuliani once said, “If you don’t have a fear, you’d better go get one.” In other words, try new things, get out of your comfort zone, and make your palms sweat … on purpose!”

Mandy McEwen, Founder of Mod Girl Marketing

“When I lose focus and/or motivation I take a break and do something else. For example, I go and take my dogs for a quick 10 minute walk and think about what I need to do, re-organize in my head what the most important task is and when I need to accomplish it by. It’s what I call a re-group break. This usually gets me excited because I then start thinking about the opportunities that will arise when I complete that goal. It clears my head for a brief moment, just enough to prioritize my projects and tasks.”
