BREAKING: Katsina Govt approves deployment of dogs to secure boarding school

Katsina State Government has approved the deployment of dogs, to aid security arrangements to secure boarding schools in the state.

The development is part of efforts to ensure safe and secure schools environment.

Speaking with newsmen, Commissioner for Education, Professor Badamasi Charanchi said the development was to complement the efforts of security personnel attached to each of the boarding schools.

According to him, the state government was advised by security agencies in the state to deploy the dogs in each school, because they have special abilities to detect an intruder, faster than human beings, in many instances.

He moreso added that the dogs, when deployed, will alert the students and other security agents, in case of any intruder.
