Katharine Wilder is the only daughter of famous Hollywood actor Gene Wilder. She was adopted by Gene in 1967 when he married his mother Mary Joan Schutz. Katherine, however, is not Wilder’s biological daughter. Katherine had a distant relationship with her father, in fact, she cut all ties with him.

Katharine’s mother, Mary Joan, and Gene were married for seven long years. However, their marriage ended in divorce after Mary speculated about dating her co-star. Katharine also thought her father was having an affair with which her relationship with her daughter was broken. Gene confessed to losing Katharine a long time ago in an interview describing it as a sad story. In an interview, Gene said his daughter would never read his books because she never forgave him and cut all ties with him. Gene said: ‘If she does (read my book), I hope it explains some things she didn’t want to understand.’

Katharine Wilder is now a long-lost name that has never returned to her father or the media. As Gene mentioned that at 22 or 23 she had severed all ties with him, one can assume that she might already be in her 40s. There are no such antecedents to trace Wilder’s estranged daughter. She may already be married now, but we don’t have any information to prove it yet.
