Katelyn Nicole Davis was a popular online figure known as ‘ITZ Dolly’. Davis was a young girl who was famous as a blogger, but later made headlines after she committed live-action suicide at just 12 years old.

Davies’ end came after she could not find the meaning of her life and her death is considered one of the saddest and most tragic events in recent years. The case is very similar to that of Daniel Kyre. His death was caught on video and it brought much-needed attention to suicide prevention. Aspects such as online bullying, child abuse and neglect were also discussed after his death. Now let’s take a closer look at the sad event and the life of Katelyn Nicole Davis.

KATELYN NICOLE DAVIS: YOUTH AND EDUCATION

Katelyn was born on February 20, 2004. She was born to parents Tammy Michelle and Matthew Reed in Georgia, United States of America. Davis was an American by nationality and was ethnically Caucasian. Shortly after she was born, her parents separated and Katelyn grew up with only her mother. Matthew was a neglectful dad who spent hours playing video games. He didn’t even pay child support, and Davis had to stay with his mother and her new husband Anthony Lee Rogers. She had two younger half-siblings in Abigail and AJ

For her education, Katelyn attended Cedartogh Middle School and due to her family’s money problems, she was unable to get any higher education. Later, she joined the National Leaders Association for Young Leaders and they promised to have her join the college. However, her stepfather was not supportive and ended up burning the papers in her face.

December 30 was the fateful day when the 12-year-old girl took her own life and filmed everything in the yard of her family’s house. The entire video was 42 minutes long and captures Davis setting up a noose. She then hung her from a tree and committed suicide by “short-lived strangulation”. The event was live on the “Live.me” website, an app Davis used extensively under the name “ITZ Dolly.”

Her lifeless body aired for more than 20 minutes and came to an abrupt end after repeated calls to her phone and neighbors trying to save her life. Later, Katelyn was taken to Polk Medical Center, but it was too late. Katelyn was not new to posting disturbing videos on the platform. She had uploaded dozens of other videos with many other suicide attempts. Katelyn’s last attempt to kill herself was due to a drug overdose.

Before her death, she rose to fame with her singing abilities. She was a very talented young lady who had the creativity to produce different blogs every day. His videos were about his experiences in life, from start to finish. He was a very philosophical and extremely spiritual person in his videos.

His videos also included arguments with his mother and an emotional breakdown. According to Davis, her condition was the result of her father’s physical and sexual neglect.

Katelyn’s death sparked a lot of discussion and concern about millennials and depression. His video was circulating around the world from many different sources. But later, with the involvement of the police, they were able to remove the 43-minute video from the internet.

It hasn’t been long since that tragic end of a life that, at the time, affected millions of people. It was shameful that a 12 year old would kill himself because of bullying and sexual harassment. Investigations began soon after and no charges were brought by the police.
