Kamel Touati (in Arabic: كمال التواتي) is a Tunisian actor, who was born on February 22, 1952 in Ras Jbal Tunis.

He has worked in several theatrical scenes, such as  Against X  and Klem Ellil by Toufik Jebali, He has also participated in several films and television series, for example Chea Azaiez, Loutil, Choufli Hal in (2005-2009), Dar Lekhlaa in 2010 , Bolice between 2015-2016 and Bottling in 2016.

He directed three One man shows: Mériah in 1986,  El Fondouk  in 1996 and Ahna Hakka in 2003.

He participated in commercials.

One of the great actors of the television and artistic scene. In all he played in 18 series, 13 films (short and feature films) and 5 plays without forgetting his one man show namely Mériah (1986), El Fondouk (1996) and Ahna Hakka (2003). In 2018, he was elected best Tunisian actor by L’Émission sur El Hiwar El Tounsi
His career in cinema began in 1974 with the film “Sejnane” by producer Abdellatif Ben Ammar and his career in Tunisian television began in 1995 thanks to Bab El Khoukha by Abdeljabbar Bhouri in his role as Mohsen.

He then chained roles such as in 1992 in Le Sultan de la médina by Moncef Dhouib in 1994 in Les Silences du palais by Moufida Tlatli for the role of Hussein or to name a few in 2019 in Before he ne be tard by Majdi Lakhdhar embodying the role of Hassen
For 15 years already, Kamel Touati has been present on Tunisian screens every day thanks to his iconic role in Choufli hal which lasted 5 years in a row and which was very successful during its production and years later.

Moreover, it is one of the best Tunisian soap operas which has touched several generations; today’s children know the actor and the entire team of actors from Choufli Hal. However, the Tunisian viewer has been used to seeing KAMEL Touati in comedy roles, especially thanks to his comedy roles, particularly in “loutil”, “superette azaiz” “Bolice”. But that made us forget that Kamel Touati is a versatile actor that he is not a simple comedian but an actor and moreover that is what he tries to communicate during his intervention with Hedi Zaaim in Fekret Sami El Fehri for him, he is not just a comedian although he has spent over ten years playing comedy roles, he sees himself as an actor who is able to adapt and has to adapt to different roles offered to him.

Little known facts

• Lately in April 2019, Kamel Touati was the victim of verbal and physical aggression by rental drivers who were protesting against the increase in fuel prices.
• He was in the direction of Tunis and he was blocked at the level of the road linking Ras Jebal to Raf-Raf by these protesters.
• Trying to dodge the road, blocked by vehicles, he was arrested and then assaulted.
• Kamet Touati participated in the television series Zanket El Bacha for Ramadan 2019.
