Kadhem Saher, otherwise known as Kathem Al Saher , Kazem Al Sahe r or Kadim Al Sahir, his full name is Kadhem Jabbar Ibrahim Assamaraii (Arabic: كاظم جبار ابراهيم السامرائي ) was born into a poor family in Mosul on the 12 September 1957. Kadhem is an Iraqi singer and songwriter, he has established himself as one of the most accomplished singers in the Arab world. Ranging from great romantic musical ballads, to more engaged works, from pop to classical Arabic, he has spanned the spectrum of music with a genre of hits little known since the golden age of Oum Kalsoum .
His artistic career began in 1989 with the release of ladghat al Hayya (لدغة الحية) and only took off in 1995 with the song Ha Habibi (ها حبيبي) which received the prize for best Arabic song during the first edition of the Cairo Festival of Arabic Song in Egypt. Kadhem has sold 30 million albums and has lived in Canada for several years with his family.

Little known facts
On March 14, 2006, the Kaiser of Arabic song, as the late poet Nizar Qabbani had once nicknamed him , organized a concert in London in the famous Royal Albert Hall , all of whose earnings were donated to orphan children in the Arab countries and more especially in Iraq and Palestine. He received a letter of congratulations and thanks from Prince Charles of Wales and his wife Camilla after the concert.
On March 28, 2009, he appeared in concert in Paris to support the children of Gaza.
