Unknown Gunmen has again killed two and razed the divisional police station in Obosi, Idemili North LGA of Anambra, killing two officers.

Recall that gunmen had earlier invaded 13 police headquarters in Ukpo, during a violent attack on April 19, and opened fire on police officers.

Moreso, the gunmen in the early hours of Thursday, was reported to have burned down the police quarters

NAN reports that after burning down the station, the gunmen moved to the police quarters where they killed the two personnel.

However, the police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra command’s public relations officer (PPRO), while confirming the incident said Chris Owolabi, the commissioner of police in the state, had dispatched a tactical team for an on-the-spot assessment of the incident.

 “The tactical team led by an assistant commissioner of police was directed to have an on-the-spot assessment of the place.

“The team was equally told to possibly identify and apprehend the hoodlums that perpetrated the attack.”

Ikenga said the bodies of the two policemen had been deposited at a morgue, adding that investigation into the matter had commenced.

The Obosi incident is the second such attack on a police facility in Anambra in the past two weeks.
