JUST IN: Gunmen Kidnap Wife, Children of Overseas Returnee in Kwara
Gunmen have kidnapped the wife and two children of an overseas returnee in Kwara State, Nigeria. The incident occurred on Monday night, June 20, 2023, in the Okanle-Fajeromi community in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
The victims have been identified as Mrs Fausat Abiola, 35, and her two sons, Abdulsalam, 10, and Abdulazeez, 8. Their husband and father, Sikiru Abiola, returned to Nigeria from the United States of America about three years ago to practice farming.
The gunmen reportedly invaded the Abiola family’s home at about 11:00 pm on Monday in Kwara State and abducted the victims while they were asleep. The gunmen also stole some valuables from the home, including a laptop computer, a television set, and some jewellery.
The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the incident and said that it is investigating the matter. The police have also deployed officers to the area to search for the victims.
