JUST IN: Anxiety resumes in Benue as another tanker explosion rocks Agatu community

Another tanker explosion has been recorded in the Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State; this, however, is coming barely three days after a fuel tanker exploded in the same community.

According to reports gathered, the fresh explosion occurred at about 3 am on Tuesday morning.

Otache Gabriel, a member of the community, raised the alarm via a post on his Facebook wall.

“Another fire outbreak in my community again. After the first tanker explosion on Sunday, another one today around 3 am this morning; houses are burning.

“God have mercy on us oo. Benue state is turning to another thing. God, two tanker explosions in one community.

Similarly, the Agatu Local Government Secretary, Oteyi Sunday confirmed the incident to newsmen.

According to him, the conductor of the heavy-duty vehicle has been arrested while the driver disappeared to an unknown destination.
