- Borno govt declared that 90 percent of died-hard Boko Haram fighters dead
- The govt they are not aware of the female terror suspects who were impregnated by insurgents
The Borno State Government said Wednesday that 90 percent of died-hard Boko Haram rebels were dead. It also maintained that the military operations and the death of the sect’s head, Ibrahim Shakau, were to blame for the sect’s wholesale surrender.
In addition, the military authorities yesterday stated that 900 defendants were scheduled to stand trial in January while 1,952 terror suspects were being investigated in the northeast.
It further clarified that, in contrast to claims that pregnancies of female terror suspects who were impregnated by insurgents were aborted, the military was not aware of such a development. The military had instead taken in fugitive female suspects, put them through screening and medical care, and helped deliver babies who were alive and healthy and under their care.
