June Preston
She was a child actress in the golden age of Hollywood, before becoming a world-renowned opera soloist. June Preston she died on May 11, 2022, at the age of 93, in a nursing home in Montclair (New Jersey), after many years suffering from dementia.
Born in Glendale, California, on December 29, 1928, June Preston began acting at the age of six with a small role in Anne of Green Gables (1934). RKO offered her an exclusive contract, so she began to appear in various films, such as It Happened One Night , by Frank Capra , where she gave life to a crying girl.
In the late 1930s, a clothing line bearing his name was marketed.
After brief roles in such titles as Ernst Lubitsch ‘s The Devil Said No and Preston Sturges ‘s Christmas in July , June Preston retired from film at the age of 16. She studied opera at Seattle University, and became a solo soprano, with notable tours of theaters around the world. She came to sing in Spain, in 1962, when she gave a recital at the Palau de la Música, in Barcelona.
Regarding her private life, June Preston married the Belgian violin soloist Saul Höuben in 1963. The couple had a daughter.
