Julia Gutierrez Caba
He has one of the most solid careers in theater, film and television in Spain. Julia Gutiérrez Caba belongs to one of the most prestigious and beloved families in Spanish interpretation.
Born in Madrid on October 20, 1934, she is the daughter of actors Irene Caba Alba and Emilio Gutiérrez, niece of Julia Caba Alba and sister of Irene and Emilio Gutiérrez Caba . She began drawing costumes, and finally appeared on stage in 1951 with “Mariquilla Terremoto”, with the Catalina Bárcena company.
An immense prestige was carved out on stage with works such as “The Cherry Garden”, by Antón Chekhov, and “Petra Regalada” and “Las entretenidas”, by Antonio Gala . In May 1964 she married the actor and director Manuel Collado , her co-star in the play “Edición especial”.
He debuted on the big screen at the hands of Juan Antonio Bardem in the bullfighting film At five in the afternoon . The same director gave her one of her best roles, that of the doctor’s wife in Nothing Happens .
Although throughout his intense career he has always given priority to the theater, he has taken part in numerous feature films, such as You can be a murderer , El camino , Operación Plus Ultra , Midshipmen , The Big Family, A Million in the Trash , The friends , Fortunata and Jacinta , Premarital Experience or Process to Jesus .
It has also been lavished on television, with illustrious appearances in the legendary “Estudio 1”. He was particularly successful with “Good night, gentlemen”, where he played a different role per chapter. After twenty years retired from the cinema, she returned to work with José Luis Garci, in La herida luminosa and You’re the One (A story from then) . She also filmed The Color of the Clouds with Mario Camus , and the thriller Los ojos de Julia with Guillem Morales .
