JUICY J THREE 6 MAFIA

In 1991, he was one of the co-founding members of the Southern hip hop group called Three 6 Mafia. Other band members included DJ Paul and Lord Infamous, rappers Crunchy Black, Gangsta Boo and Koopsta Knicca. Along with DJ Paul, Juicy J launched Prophet Entertainment.

In 1994, they moved from the label to business partner Nick “Scarfo” Jackson when they launched Hypnotize Minds. the band later released their first official album named Mystic Stylez. They went on to release 8 albums. He then released his solo album Chronicles of the Juice Man, under North North Records, on July 2, 2002.

At the 78th Academy Awards in 2006, Juicy J, along with DJ Paul, Crunchy Black and Frayser Boy, received an Oscar for Best Original Song for ‘It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp’. On June 16, 2009, he released his second studio album Hustle Till I Die under Hypnotize Minds and Select-O-Hits.

Between 2009 and 2011 he left Three 6 Mafia, focusing on his solo career. He regularly collaborates with Wiz Khalifa on his mixtapes. Houston also released a few of their own, such as Blue Dream & Lean .

In December 2011, he established himself as the newest member of Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang imprint. He was also a co-owner and A&R representative. In 2012, he appeared alongside his label mates Taylor Gang, on the cover of Source Magazine ‘s May 2012 issue.

During the same year, he released the first single from his third album Stay Trippy , “Bandz a Make Her Dance”. The single included guest features from 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne. The song peaked at number 29 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was produced in a two-bedroom apartment in Washington, D.C.

Later in September 2012, he landed a recording contract with Columbia Records and Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records. On September 18, 2017, Juicy J released a mixtape named Very Intoxicated with production primarily by rap duo Suicideboys. He released the Enterprise Rubba Band album on December 8, 2017.
