Jorge Ramos is a Mexican-American journalist, as well as an author, who has multiple roles as host of Noisier Univision, host of the Sunday news talk show Al Punto, and also host of Fusion TV’s America with Jorge Ramos.

Early age and education

Jorge Ramos was born Jorge Gilberto Ramos Avalos on March 16, 1958 in Mexico City, Mexico. He belongs to the white ethnic group and has Mexican nationality.

Ramos was born into a Roman Catholic family. He grew up in the Bosques de Echegaray neighborhood of Naucalpan, a suburb of Mexico City with his siblings, Lourdes, Alejandro Ramos, Gerardo Ramos, and Eduardo Ramos.

Ramos went to the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico where he earned a degree specializing in communications.

 

Subsequently, Ramos enrolled at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida, where he earned a master’s degree in international studies.

Ramos moved to Los Angeles, California in 1983 on a student visa to join the extension journalism classes at UCLA.

Jorge Ramos began working with KMEX-TV since 1984. Shortly after two years, he began presenting Mundo Latino on KMEX.

 

In 2008, Ramos became a US citizen at the age of 50. She successfully covered the presidential debate between Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton at the University of Texas in 2008.

In 2013 it was declared that Ramos would be the host of the first program in English called América with Jorge Ramos, where he gained a lot of name and fame.

Apart from these, Ramos has also published the famous books like My Life, A Country for All: An Immigrant Manifesto, and Without Borders: A Journalist’s Search in Search of a Home (Atravesando Fronteras).

Personal life

Jorge Ramos was married twice in his life. He first married Gina Montaner , who is the daughter of exiled Cuban author Carlos Alberto Montaner.

The couple have one child, a daughter named Paola Ramos born in 1988, but they separated in 1992.

Ramos remarried Lisa Bolivar with whom he has a son, Nicolás Ramos. They were married in 1992 in a Catholic ceremony at the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista in San Juan, Puerto Rico. But Ramos and Nicolás divorced in 20015.

Ramos was also linked to various actresses. He began dating Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera, who has starred in movies, soap operas, and also the HBO television series Eastbound & Down.

Ramos has currently been in a relationship with the Venezuelan television host and actress. Chiquinquira Delgado since 2011. Delgado has two daughters from previous relationships.

Ramos lives in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami.
