Jorge Garcia is a talented actor famous for his appearance in the television series Becker (2003-2004) alongside Amy Spanger and Lost (2004-2010). He is also a stand-up comedian who has earned a name in the comedy world.

He starred in one of the most famous sitcoms “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. His performance as a stand-up comedian impressed the producers of “Lost.” This allowed them to prepare the character Hugo ‘Hurley’ Reyes especially for him. This made him the first to be cast on the show, which ultimately boosted his career.

The actor was born as Jorge Garcia on April 28, 1973 in Omaha, Nebraska. He grew up in San Juan Capistrano in Orange County, California. Jorge’s father’s name is Humberto Garcia, who is a Chilean-born doctor and Dora Mesa, his mother is a Cuban-born teacher.

About education history, Jorge attended San Clemente High School where he is involved in wrestling. The cute-faced boy has been dubbed the ‘baby-faced killer’. He was also in the theater during his school days. For all his interest and excellence in extracurricular activities, Garcia wasn’t so bad at his academics too. Later, during his senior year, he was named “Newt of the Year”, the highest honor ever given to a senior graduate. Let’s just say he’s a multi-talented person.

After graduating from high school, Jorge attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1995. He majored in communication studies.

Garcia previously worked at a record store, but later quit her job because she was asked to cut her long curly hair. He, however, kept his natural look and made it to Hollywood.

Jorge took the first step in his acting career in 1997, after graduating from the Beverly Hills Playhouse acting school. He began auditioning for film roles while working at Borders Books and Music. Then, Garcia got gigs from TV commercials, most notably in a Jack in the Box commercial.

Gradually he got small roles in films and TV series. His opening act was at Becker where he portrayed Hector Lopez for 13 episodes.

Jorge later appeared in 181 of the 121 episodes of the television series Lost. Along with his other Lost cast members, Garcia received a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2006 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

He also worked for other concerts like Little Athens (2005), Deck the Halls (2006) and Sweetzer (2007). After the successful ending of Lost, he went on to have guest roles on How I Met Your Mother, Mr. Sunshine, and Fringe. Jorge was also cast in the FOX series, Alcatraz, but the show was canceled due to low ratings.

Garcia’s career path doesn’t end there. In 2013, he played Apple engineer Steve Wozniak in the parody film iSteve. Then, he started appearing on Hawaii Five-0 Season 4 as a guest star and took a lead role in the 5th season.

After all the hard work, Jorge was able to accumulate a net worth of $5 million. He leads a luxurious lifestyle and owns a number of homes across the country. The talented actor also seems to be a big fan of dogs and music.

Her weight quickly became cause for concern for her actors who feared contracting deadly weight-related illnesses. So in 2012 Jorge tried practicing a diet called “Nooch” another word for nutritional yeast, but in pictures Garcia still shows off with a great body. Despite his best efforts, he seems to be consistent with the way he is.

The 45-year-old actor is 6ft 1in tall and weighs around 300lbs.
