He became very popular as the sarcastic doctor Vilches in the long-running series “Hospital Central.” Jordi Rebellón has died at the age of 64 after suffering a stroke at the Hospital de la Paz in Madrid, where he had already been admitted in serious condition.

Born in Barcelona on February 15, 1957, Jordi Rebellón López trained at the Escuela de Actores in Barcelona, where he received acting, dance and voice classes.

Jordi Rebellón began his artistic journey on Sesame Street , the popular children’s television program. After giving life to a policeman in Makinavaja, the last choriso , he began to become popular for the successful television series Médico de familia , where he played doctor Ángel Valverde, the guy who endangered the relationship between Emilio Aragón and Lydia Bosch . “Emilio told me that when my first chapter came out, people would stop me on the street.” And I replied: “Come on now, man!”. When it aired, I was in Barcelona and people started coming up to me. That’s the power of fame.”

He went from playing one doctor to another. “I went to the Central Hospital  casting and left Family Doctor . But an executive from the chain came and told me that they didn’t want to see me in a similar role. So I lost my job in two days. Luckily, I spoke once and again with company managers and in the end they kept me on the staff”, recalls Jordi Rebellón . Between 2000 and 2012, he gave life to the cynical –but with a good heart– Rodolfo Vilches. The character gave me the opportunity to demonstrate my conditions as an actor and to be known. I guess it’ll be hard to get rid of him, too.”

At the end of the fiction, Jordi Rebellón  participated in other series, such as  Amar es para siempre , where the biochemist Luis Ardanza was, Cuéntame cómo pasó and Mercado central , in which he worked until shortly before his death.

Little is known of his personal life, other than that he was single and had no children.
