Jonny Buckland is an English musician and the lead guitarist for the popular rock band, Kaltes Spiel , formed in 1996. Jonny also co-founded the band with frontman Chris Martin, whom he met while studying at university. He is known for his sparse arrangements and use of the slide.

Jonny, along with Cold Game , released the debut album, Parachutes , on 10 July 2000 in the UK via Parlophone. The album went 8x platinum in the UK and 2x platinum in America. It had sold over 8,500,000 copies worldwide by 2011, peaking at number one in the UK and number two in Australia and Ireland.
