Biography of Jonathan Scott
Although the Canadian celebrity is known professionally as Jonathan Scott, the name his parents gave him after he was born on April 28, 1978 is John Ian Scott. He was born to James Scott and Joanne Scott in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He has a twin brother, Drew Scott, who was born four minutes after him, and an older brother, JD.
Following in the footsteps of his father who was a stuntman, assistant director and actor until the late 70’s, Scott started making his own magic props at the age of ten. At the age of 15, he was creating large-scale illusions in a barn which he converted into a workshop. Later he took courses on the definitive volumes of the Tarbell Course in Magic, after which he befriended professional illusionists Shawn Farquhar and David Wilson and later joined the International Brotherhood of Magicians and at the Vancouver Magic Circle.
Scott then moved from Maple Ridge, Alberta to join his father in building his family’s dream home. It was around this time that he took Jonathan Silver as both his stage name and his private name. After a while, he returned to Maple Ridge to finish high school, enrolling at Thomas Haney High School, where he played on the school’s volleyball and basketball teams with his twin. He was also part of the school’s theater troupe, as he served as chairman of various committees, including the graduation committee and the student government body.
After graduation, Jonathan Scott was admitted to the University of Calgary to study business management. With the goal of becoming an entrepreneur, he transferred to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and the Home Builders Institute of Alberta, where he majored in construction and design. After completing his education, he became a licensed contractor and enrolled in a real estate program in 2004 to obtain a license.
Shortly after getting his license, he and his twin founded Scott Real Estate Inc. while pursuing their television careers. In addition to their television and real estate careers, the Scott brothers have recorded songs together and had roles in films and television, and in commercials, among other projects.
Is he married or divorced? Who is his wife or girlfriend?
Jonathan Scott is divorced. He was previously married to WestJet crew chief Kelsy Ully from 2007 to 2009. Currently, the identical twin has yet to remarry and it appears he is in no rush to do so.
Until April 2018, Scott had a girlfriend, Jacinta Kuznetsov, whom he met in the fall of 2015. Their relationship fell apart after almost three years of dating and since then the Canadian celebrity has not introduced anyone to his fans as his girlfriend. Kuznetsov, on the other hand, recently got engaged to her lover, Will Allen, a filmmaker, photographer and curator.
What is his net worth?
Jonathan Scott’s first business was making nylon coat hangers with his family (mother and brother). He started the JAM business, which stands for Jon, Andrew and Mum, when he was seven years old, and sold the hangers door to door. So far, his entrepreneurial genes, which he apparently inherited from his parents, have continued to pay off as he has invested his time, expertise and money in a chain of businesses that are all thriving.
Scott has a personal net worth of $10 million and a combined net worth of $20 million with his twin brother.

He’s gay ?
The Property Brothers entrepreneur may have had some serious heartache over failed relationships with women, but he hasn’t identified as gay, nor has he made headlines for having had a romantic relationship with people of his own sex. With that, we all assume he’s straight until he proves otherwise.
