Early life and education of Jon Lovitz
Jon Lovitz was born Jonathan Michael Lovitz in Tarzana, Los Angeles, California on July 21, 1957. His father was a doctor. His family emigrated from Romania, Hungary and Russia. Lovitz was raised Jewish. He has two sisters, Leslie Lovitz and Lisa Lovitz .
At the age of 5, he fell in love with making others laugh. She was inspired by the friend of his who used to make everyone laugh by making funny faces.
Lovitz graduated from Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles in 1975. He then attended the University of California at Irvine, where he studied drama with a popular acting professor. Robert Cohen .

Jon Lovitz has contributed a lot in the film industry. He has made dozens of movies and television series throughout his professional career, consolidating himself as one of the best actors in Hollywood.
After graduating, he joined the Groundlings, an improv and sketch comedy team in Los Angeles. There he met Phil Hartman who recommended him to audition for Saturday Night Live And the rest is history. His performance on Saturday Night Live launched his next comedy career.

He also appeared on Friends twice. In 2007 Lovitz opened his own comedy club, The Jon Lovitz Comedy Club in Eggplant. He later changed the name to The Jon Lovitz Comedy Club & Podcast Theater which closed in 2014.
