Before his death, he was in a relationship with the missing Stephanie Parze. Looking briefly at Parze, she was a professional makeup artist as well as a manager at LA Artistry LLC. Also, the lady worked as a Wx specialist at European Wax Center Freehold. Prior to her disappearance, she had gone to see psychic medium Cindy Kaza perform at the Stress Factory Comedy Club in New Brunswick with her mother and three sisters on October 30, 2019.
It’s unclear when they started their relationship, but in their relationship, Parze accused John of physical abuse on several occasions. Following this, police arrested him on charges of punching Parze in the head in September 2019. It caused him minor injuries and pain during the assault. Before she disappeared, he sent her 10 unanswered messages in about nine minutes and ended by telling her that she always sucked their relationship.

After Parze disappeared on October 30, investigators entered the Parze home. But they found no evidence of forced entry, they found his phone and his car. After that, they turned their attention to John, her ex-boyfriend. Prior to his death, he had also been charged with domestic violence and assault. His domestic accusations followed in June when a stranger accused him of pulling Stephanie’s hair and dragging her. Also, in September, he was arrested again for assaulting Stephanie when she was trying to break up with him.
On November 8, 2019, police arrested him after searching his phone and finding child pornography and charged him with possession of child pornography. He was released from prison on November 18 pending trial but on November 22 he was found dead in the garage of his home. Additionally, the medical examiner ruled a suicide by hanging and a note spotted next to him . Additionally, the prosecutor, Christopher J. Gramiccioni, said he admitted to participating in the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
Three months later after the incident, on January 27, 2019, the Monmouth County District Attorney’s Office announced the discovery of Parze’s body . Her body was found 20 minutes from her home in Old Bridge, a wooded area. According to the New York Times, the two teenagers who were walking along Route 9 discovered the body .
