Rashida Jones (2005-2006) – The famous actress was part of the popular sitcoms, The Office (2005-2013) and Parks and Recreation (2009-2015) and began dating John over the time her characters The Office were also romantically paired. Krasinski wanted Rashida to get the job on his show, and while their relationship didn’t work out on screen or in real life, their breakup was amicable. They were often seen dating a number of times after the breakup.
  2. Renée Zellweger (2007) – They have been spotted in public a couple of times sharing a cup of coffee while filming the film. Leatherheads (2008), which sparked speculation that the two might be dating. But it turned out to be a rumor.
  3. Emily Blunt(2008–Present) – John met Emily through a chancemeeting right after moving to Los Angeles. At that time, he was more concerned about settling in the new city and not looking for a relationship. He took Emily to a gun range on their first date and hoped for the worst, but his attraction to her only grew stronger. He was fortunate to know that Emily returned his feelings and was willing to suggest that she had no second thoughts. They got engaged in August 2009 and had a wedding in Italy in July 2010. The ceremony was organized by George Clooney’s Lake Como estate, who was also in attendance with then-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis. Together, John and Emily have two daughters, Hazel (born February 2014) and Violet (born June 2016).

  • Prior to 2015, John had a pretty average physique at 25% body fat until he was cast in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi . To play the role of a Navy Seal convincingly, John enlisted the help of celebrity trainer Jason Walsh at the Ascension Movement training studio in West Hollywood, which his wife Emily also trained for, Tomorrow’s Edge (2014).
  • For four months he had to train twice a day, six days a week.
  • Morning workouts were primarily for cardio, while evening workouts focused on conventional strength training.
  • Jason gave John a strong foundation of strength by incorporating lots of squats, presses, pulls and rows, finishing any strength/hypertrophy workout with metabolic finishers like HIIT Tabata circuits or sled tugs.
  • In terms of food, John lived mainly on the chicken, salad and water. However, his trainer taught him how to time his daily carb intake and explained the importance of a meal high in carbs and protein immediately after an intense workout to replenish tired muscles.
  • After playing a seal and training like one,John has outgrown his skinny fat frame and is quite disciplined about training. His newfound knowledge of serious training also helped develop a closer relationship with Chris Pratt, who had undergone a physical transformation himself. The two actors came together on Memorial Day (May 29, 2017) to undertake the #Murphchallenge.
  • The challenge consists of a grueling workout of a1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats completed with another 1 mile run while wearing a 20lb weighted vest honoring the deceased Navy SEAL officer Michael P. Murphy was out to raise money for the Scholarship Foundation on his behalf.

John Krasinski The fact

  1. His The Office co-star BJ Novak was also his classmate at Newton South High School. Both played on the same minor league baseball team. In fact, Novak even gave John his first stage experience by casting him in a satirical high school play.
  2. John wore suspenders in high school.
  3. As a student at Brown University, he became a member of the sketch comedy group called Outside the Limits and coached the basketball team at the Gordon School in East Providence, Rhode Island.
  4. He enrolled in college with the intention of becoming an English teacher inspired by the film. Dead Poets Society (1989). His college peers introduced him to indie films and music, and John was passionate about theater and acting.
  5. John is very tall at 6” 3” but he is the shortest among his brothers. One of them is 6’10” while the other is 6’6″!
  6. He was a screenwriter for Conan O’Brien. After work, John would often sit on Conan’s talk show couch and pretend to be interviewed as a celebrity.

  8. John almost quit acting three weeks before being cast on The Office in 2005. Disappointed with two and a half years of working small jobs, John called his mother in September 2005 to come home and change jobs. She recommended that he finish the year before he gave up.
