John Havlicek was an American professional basketball player, best known as a member of the American professional basketball team Boston Celtics . It wasn’t long before John was recognized as one of the team’s most valuable players after being drafted by the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA) in1962. After 16 seasons and 8 NBA championships, he became one of the main players on the court. Adding to his legendary playing history, he was one of the few NBA players to have an unmatched 8-0 record in the NBA Finals series.
He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1984 and was considered by many to be one of the greatest players in history. A few years before his retirement, Havlicekin was able to bat and earn more points in the NBA. He was the Celtics all-time leader in most games of the 1970–71 season, with his average points per game being 28.9 points. During the 1974 NBA Championship, Boston Celtics defeated Western Conference champion Milwaukee Bucks 4-3 and Havlicek was named NBA Finals MVP at the time.
