Joe Torry was born on September 28, 1965 in Louis, Missouri, United States. He is the son of Robert Torry and Rebecca Torry . He was raised in St. Louis, Missouri along with his brother, Guy Torry who is also an American actor and comedian.
Torry enrolled at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri and earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication/broadcast journalism. At that time, he was pledged to the Omega Psi Phi fraternity. In 2001 and 2002, she received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award and an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters, respectively.
