Joe Morrissey is an American Democratic politician and businessman. The former attorney previously served as a Commonwealth Attorney in Richmond, Va., from 1989 to 1993. He was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in November 2007 and elected several times. But he resigned from his post after admitting he was involved in a sex scandal.
He also acknowledged as the controversial figure involved in the accusation of having sex with an underage secretary, after which he spent four years in prison. However, after his release, in the 2019 election in Virginia, he won the Senate seat for the 16th District in a matchup against Independent Waylin Ross with 60% of the vote. Additionally, he later married underage Pride of Myrna with whom he had three children. However, he fathered seven children including four children with different wives.

The political figure was born as Joseph Dee Morrissey on September 23, 1957 in Washington, DC in the United States. He is the son of cardiologist William F. Morrissey and his wife Jean Morrissey. He grew up in Annandale with his five siblings whose information is not available in the media

Before entering politics, he became a high school teacher, but later served as a Commonwealth prosecutor in Richmond, Virginia, from 1989 to 1993, after being admitted to the Virginia bar. He then practiced private law from 1993 to 2000, but on 26 April 2006 the Bar Association of New South Wales deemed him unfit and suitable for admission as a lawyer. He worked as a lecturer in law at various universities including Portobella College in Ireland, the University of Adelaide in Australia and the University of Western Sydney until he was fired for failing to disclose the face that he had been written off.
Then he decided to start his political career and was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates representing a district in the Richmond area in November 2007. After that he won several re-elections in that part but had to resign from his position due to legal issues. . Following this, in March 2015, he was disqualified from the House of Delegates. Because he ran to run for state senate outside his district. In 2016 he started a campaign for mayor of Richmond as an independent and finished in third place with 21% of the vote. However, in 2019, he once again ran for the dance seat in the Virginia Senate. After winning the seat with 57% of the vote, he currently represents the 16th District in the Virginia Senate.

Controversy and legal actions:
He has been in the limelight for his controversies and legal troubles. He had already been arrested more than five times prior to the 2013 sex scandal. Joe also had his law practice suspended twice in 1993 as well as in 1999. In 2001 he was disbarred from the US District Court for the District eastern Virginia.
In 2013, he ended up with a 17-year-old girl in his Henrico County home who was his secretary at the time. After investigating a possible inappropriate sexual relationship between them, Joe was charged with the crime of indecent liberty with a minor. After the sex scandal, he was again charged with misconduct by the Virginia State Bar in March 2018
