Early life and career
Born on January 16, 1979 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jimmy Walker’s school education took place in Oklahoma City, after which he joined Baylor University.
Before turning professional in 2001 at the age of 22, he played on the varsity golf team at Baylor University, Waco, Texas, which was named the Baylor Bears.
Jimmy played full-time on the Nationwide Tour in 2003 and 2004. By 2005, he earned the PGA Tour Card, but played in only nine PGA Tour events due to injury.
His first full-time season for the PGA Tour was in 2006, where he made nine cuts and one top-25 finish from 21 events. So he was sent back to the Nationwide Tour in 2007 and finished 202nd on the money list.
Again for the 2008 season, he earned a 25th place finish on the Nationwide Tour and was called back to the PGA. Despite a pretty poor season with 13 cuts and three top-25 finishes in 24 events, he qualified to retain his card and played for the PGA in the 2009 tour season.
In 2009, Jimmy earned two top-10 finishes and a T5 at the Turning Stone Resort Championship, ranking 125th on the money list and securing a berth for the 2010 season. He again placed 103rd on the money list. money list and qualified for the 2011 PGA season.
2011 gave him three 4th/T4 finishes, a 68th position in the FedEx Cup standings, and a position to play the BMW Championship, the third FedEx Cup tiebreaker.
Jimmy finished 2012 ranked 43rd in the Merged FedEx Cup with six top-10 finishes. From the 2012 John Deere Classic to the 2013 Memorial Tournament, he made 25 consecutive cuts and finished in T2, T3 and T4 and also earned $2 million in prize money.
Jimmy, in 2014 won his first PGA Tour event by two strokes over Vijay Singh at the Frys.com Open. He was later exempted from the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Jimmy also earned a ranking in the world’s top 50 and a trip to The Masters and a PGA Tour card through the end of 2016.
In January 2014, he scored another PGA Tour victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii after beating Chris Kirk. With his many victories, he reached the top position on the 2014 money list in the FedEx and Ryder Cup points standings.
His official world ranking reached position 24, followed by his victory in the 2014 Masters Tournament raising his position to 19. He was also included in the 2014 Ryder Cup. In March 2015, Jimmy won his fifth PGA Tour by beating Jordan Speith.

Jimmy Walker is married to show jumper Erin Stiegemeier. They met at the 2004 Nationwide Tour event, where she volunteered. They have two children and there are no rumors about their divorce.
