- Betty Jean Morgan – When he was enlisted in the US Army, JimiHendrix was reportedly in a relationship with Betty Jean Morgan. He’d even left his guitar with Betty and mentioned it in the letter to his father, who ended up sending him his red Silvertone Danelectro to Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
- Heather Daltrey – Hendrix has had an eventful relationship with Heather Daltrey in the past. It has been claimed that his single Foxy Lady was inspired by Heather.
- Carmen Borrero – Carmen Borrero became nationally known as Hendrix’s girlfriend in 1969 after it was revealed that he had hit her in the eye with a vodka bottle in a drunken and jealous rage. She required medical attention and stitches to tend to her wound.

- Devon Wilson (1965-1970) – Hendrix reportedly started dating Devon Wilson in 1965 and they were together until his death in 1970. However, their relationship was an on and off nature and he had repeatedly cheated on her. Some accounts even claim that she had an argument with him about his wandering habits a few days before his unfortunate death. It has also been claimed that Wilson introduced Hendrix to Alan Douglas, the American record producer who took over production of some of Hendrix’s posthumous releases.
- Kirsten Nefer (1970) – Hendrix was known to be dating Danish model Kirsten Nefer when he passed away in September 1970.
- Pamela Des Barres – Jimi had an affair with former rock ‘n’ roll groupie Pamela Des Barres in the roaring ’60s. She reportedly created a plaster cast of his manhood and even claimed that he loved being caught on camera while making love.
- Linda Keith – Rumor has it that Jimi was having an affair with model Linda Keith, who also happened to be a big blues fan. She is said to have given him his legendary white Fender Stratocaster before he became a huge rock star. This guitar belonged to her friend Keith Richards, a well-known singer and songwriter.

In August 1967, Jimi Hendrix released his debut studio album, Have You Experience, which went on to grab the 2nd place in the UK Albums Chart and 5th position in the US Charts. It was also gold certified in the UK and multi-platinum in the US.

- By the time he died, he had lost about 60 percent of his hearing. It was the only one that could withstand the high playback levels he used on the studio speakers.
- His father wasn’t a fan of him, as he played the guitar left-handed as he believed it was a sign of the devil. When his father was around he played music with his right hand and as soon as he left the room Jimi switched to his famous left hand.
- He had an impoverished childhood and his parents, who were both alcoholics, often fought after getting drunk. When he witnessed domestic violence, he hid in closets.
- In 1957, he found his first musical instrument, a ukulele, while helping his father with his part-time job. They had found it in the garbage being cleaned from an old woman’s house.
- While studying at Horace Mann Elementary School, he had a habit of carrying a broomstick, which he pretended was a guitar. It was noticed by a social worker, but she couldn’t raise enough money, nor did his father agree to buy him one.
- When his mother passed away in February 1958, he refused to take his younger brothers Leon and James to her funeral, instead giving them whiskey and teaching them how to deal with loss like a man.
- At the age of 15 he bought his first acoustic guitar for $5. However, he soon found that his guitar was barely audible over the sound of his first band, Velvetones.
- In 1959 he finally got his first father electric guitar, a white Supro Ozark. However, he was fired from his band between sets while performing in the basement of the synagogue, the Temple De Hirsch in Seattle, for performing during the performance.
- At the age of 19, Jimi was twice arrested by the police for stealing cars. He had the opportunity to go to prison and join the army. He chose the latter.
- His time in the army was not good as he spent most of his time playing the guitar and neglecting his duties. His superiors eventually agreed to give him an honorable discharge, citing his unfitness for the army.
- In his interviews, Jimi falsely claimed that he had managed to get a medical discharge after breaking his ankle during a skydive. He was also quite vocal about his dislike for the army.
- Jimi Hendrix struggled with alcohol abuse throughout his life, which often made him aggressive and violent, which his close associates said was very uncharacteristic of Jimi when not intoxicated.
- In 1968, while touring Sweden with his music band, he got into a fight at the Hotel Opalen in Gothenburg. He was eventually arrested and released on payment of a large fine.
- In May 1969, he was arrested at Toronto International Airport after authorities found a small amount of suspected heroin and hashish in his luggage. He was eventually acquitted of drug possession.
- He is the first musician to earn a place in the Native American Music Hall of Fame.
- Popular TV station VH1 ranked Hendrix 51st in their list of 100 Sexiest Artists in 2002.
- He is a member of the 27 Club, made up of leading musicians who have passed away at the age of 27. The other members of the group include Nirvana founder Kurt Cobain, The Doors frontman Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse and The Rolling Stones co-founder Brian Jones.
- In November 1991, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6627 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood.
- In 2014, the United States Postal Service honored him with a commemorative postage stamp.
- English Heritage placed a blue plaque outside his former home in London. It was the first time the iconic heritage trust had decided to commemorate a pop star.
