Jim Butcher was born on October 26, 1971 in Independence, Missouri, United States to James Joseph Butcher. He is the youngest in the family with two older sisters. He currently resides in his hometown. Butcher developed a strong interest in science fiction and fantasy novels in his childhood. He belongs to the American nationality and his ethnicity is white.
