Much loved by fans, for being a regular at “Star Wars” conventions, he did not have a very outstanding career, but it was varied, to the point that he even filmed with Rocío Dúrcal in Spain. But he will always be remembered as the actor who played bounty hunter Bobba Fett. Jeremy Bulloch died on December 17, 2020, at the age of 75 in London, due to complications derived from Parkinson’s that he had suffered for several years. “Jeremy Bulloch was the quintessential English gentleman. A fine actor, delightful company and very friendly to all of us who have been lucky enough to know or work with him. He will be sorely missed and so grateful to have met him,” said Mark Hamill , his partner in the galactic saga.

Born in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, on February 16, 1945, Jeremy Bulloch began acting at school functions at an early age and appeared in television commercials at the age of ten, followed by the television series Counter-Attack!. At 17, he played Hamlet on stage. In 1962, he starred opposite Cliff Richard in the musical film Summer Holiday, appeared in the long-running Doctor Who series,  and had a very minor role in The Devil’s Agent, opposite Christopher Lee .

At the end of the 1960s, he traveled to Spain to star in Las leandras , alongside Rocío Dúrcal , where he was a naive professor of English literature. “If I had to choose my favorite role in my entire career, it would be the one in this Mexican production,” the actor recalled in an interview in Mexico , to look good in that country, when the film had no Mexican production (he also did not remember the year). . In the 1970s, he appeared briefly in  English Love  and Mary, Queen of Scots., and gave life to a soldier who appears briefly in The Spy Who Loved Me , from the 007 saga, for which he would be recruited again, as Q’s assistant, in For Your Eyes Only , and Octopussy .

He gave life to Bobba Fett, in The Empire Strikes Back , from 1980 – where he also had another minor role as an Imperial officer, Lieutenant Sheckil, who grabs Leia, when she tries to warn Luke that he has been set up -, and in Return of the Jedi . She would be her most remembered role of hers despite the fact that she appears in a few scenes, and her voice was dubbed by another actor. Despite everything, the character became a favorite of Star Wars fans . She recruited her half-brother, Robert Watts, who was working as an associate producer on the film, and who had been assigned the task of finding someone to play the part. For his movements, especially the way of holding the weapon, and wearing the cape, she was inspired by the blond incarnated byClint Eastwood in the dollar trilogy.

“I find it incredible how so many years after the release of the original Star Wars movies people still talk about Boba Fett the way they do,” he recalled. “It’s something I’ve never been able to understand, and to this day I still can’t [laughs]. And my wife doesn’t understand it either [laughs]. It’s amazing, every day someone calls me on the phone or writes me an email to ask me something about the character or just tell me how much you like and are passionate about it. Well, maybe not every day, but…”

He would return to the galactic saga, as a captain, in Star Wars. Episode III: Revenge of the Sith . He was also a bar owner on Swing Rebels , and late in his career he appeared in shows like Neighborhood Police , and London Crime District .

Married to Maureen, Jeremy Bulloch had three children and lived in London. One of his sons, Robbie, follows in his footsteps as an actor.
