Jenson Button started karting at the age of 8 and immediately achieved great success with numerous victories in karting events. In 2000 he started his Formula One career racing for Williams . He got his first taste of mainstream success after finishing third in the Drivers’ World Championship In 2006, he won his first Grand Prix when he emerged victorious at Honda in Hungary. However, they couldn’t make it to the aisle as they decided to end their relationship in the summer of 2005. In 2000 he made his F1 debut in Australia for Williams . He didn’t perform as well in practice as crashed his car. He also qualified second from last on the starting grid. However, he was able to put in a strong performance in the main event and was poised to take a point, but the car’s engine failed with 11 laps to go.

Jenson Button goes to the gym regularly to keep himself in the right shape for his professional commitments. He’s particularly a big fan of lifting weights in the gym and loves to work on his core strength. Apart from his gymnastics lessons, he likes to train outdoors and likes to test his stamina and fitness with long-distance running and cycling. He also likes to swim.
When it comes to his daily diet, he completely stays away from processed foods and avoids eating anything that isn’t natural. During training, his diet consists mainly of fresh vegetables, meat, fish and some carbohydrates. When he’s not exercising, he’s on a low-carb diet, which eventually makes it easier for him to lose weight if needed.
Even before he eats something in the morning or in the evening, he even drinks water, he drinks a cup of black coffee. He believes it will help him lose weight quickly. During training, he likes to eat a beef burger with eggs for the first meal of the day.

- His parents named him after his father’s rallycross opponent and his Danish friend Erling Jensen. His father decided to replace “e” with “o” to distinguish him from Jensen Motors.
- His parents divorced when he was 7 years old. So he lived in Frome with his mother and three older sisters before moving in with his father and stepmother.
- He failed his first driving test. He failed the test because he got too close to the parked vehicle.
- After his father bought him his first kart, he started karting at Clay Pigeon Raceway at the age of 8.
- At the age of 9 he placed 1st in the British Super Prix in 1989.
- In 1991 he managed to win all 34 races of the British Cadet Kart Championship . He later managed to win three times in the British Open Kart Championship .
- In 1997 he won the. Forth Ayrton Senna Memorial Cup. This makes him the youngest driver to win the Super A European Championship.
- At the age of 18 he switched to car racing and soon managed to win the British Formula Ford Championship with Haywood Racing. He followed him and won in the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch.
- In 1998 he received the annual McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Award . As part of his prize package, he was allowed to test drive a McLaren Formula 1 car until the end of the following year.
- In his first season as a professional F1 driver, he scored 12 points and finished 8th.
- Despite his obvious talent and potential, he failed to achieve significant success in his early years. His lack of success has been attributed to his love of partying and the Playboy lifestyle.
- In November 2009 he announced he was on the McLaren team when he signed a 3 year contract with the company. According to the contract, he would earn £6million a season.
- In 2011 he signed a contract extension with McLaren ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix. The new deal was valued at £85million.
- In recognition of his achievements, he was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen’s New Years Honors List in 2010.
- In 2010 he founded his non-profit organization called The Jenson Button Trust which is tasked with identifying and providing financial support to charitable causes.
- In December 2016 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Bath.
