Jennifer Maria Syme was an American personal assistant and actress. After 1998, she had been in a relationship with fellow actor Keanu Reeves before they broke up in 2000, just weeks after their daughter died of stillbirth.

JENNIFER SYME: EARLY CHILDHOOD, EDUCATION AND FAMILY

Born in Pico Rivera, California on December 7, 1972, Syme lived there for the first eighteen years of her life. She landed a job, working for director David Lynch, shortly after moving to Los Angeles. Syme had a few minor film roles, including a part in Lynch’s Lost Highway. Later, she joined a music label team. She was also personal assistant to Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction and then the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Syme has worked as an actress in films like Lost Highway and Ellie Parker. Likewise, she has also worked as a production assistant for Hotel Room and Lost Highway.

JENNIFER SYME: PERSONAL LIFE AND BOYFRIEND

In 1998, Jennifer Syme began a romantic relationship with her then-boyfriend, Keanu Reeves. However, there is no information on the Internet about how the couple first met.

On December 24, 1999, she gave birth to Ava Archer Syme-Reeves, her child with actor Keanu Reeves, after eight months of her pregnancy. The child was stillborn. The strain their grief put on their relationship led to their breakup several weeks later.

JENNIFER SYME: DEATH

Syme attended a house party of musician Marilyn Manson on April 1, 2001. She left her home shortly before dawn, after being brought home by another party guest, who was supposed to be returning. On the morning of April 2, Syme drove his 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee through a row of parked cars on Cahuenga Boulevard in Los Angeles. As a result, she died instantly from the accident. Syme was two and a half years old. At Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, Syme is buried next to her daughter.

The accident investigation revealed that Syme was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was intoxicated. Reportedly, police found two rolled up banknotes containing a fine, powdery substance and two bottles of prescription medication, a muscle relaxer and an anticonvulsant. Syme’s mother told police her daughter, just days before her death, was seeking treatment for her back pain and depression.
