The veteran journalist was born on October 26, 1966 in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States of America. She was raised in New Jersey and San Diego by her family. But she did not provide information about her parents or siblings in the media. She became interested in reporting and news reporting from an early age. So, in order to achieve her dream job, she joined San Diego State University from where she got her degree in broadcasting.
During this time, she hosted a talk show on KEC radio and reported on traffic. However, she began her career as a professional journalist in 1993 anchoring weekend newscasts. Additionally, she had co-hosted the San Diego Padres pre-game show for Prime Sports West. She had covered a variety of sports, including the NHL or the NFL.
