She appeared as a child in one of the most remembered sequences of “How beautiful it is to live!”, the Frank Capra classic. Jeanine Ann Roose passed away at the age of 84 from an abdominal infection on December 31, 2021, in Valley Village, Los Angeles.

Born on October 24, 1937, in Los Angeles (California), Jeanine Ann Rose made her debut as a child actress at the age of eight, on radio shows, and on television shows Little and The Jack Benny Show .

At the age of 9, Jeanine Ann Rose was chosen from among numerous competitors to play Violet, a girl in love with young George (a character played as an adult by James Stewart ), in the classic How Beautiful It Is to Live!  She appears in an emblematic moment, when Mary goes to the pharmacy where George works. She tells Mary that she likes the leading man, to which she replies, “You like all the boys.” Violet replies, “What’s wrong with that?”

Jeanine Ann Rose then retired from acting. ” How beautiful it is to live!  was the only film I was in. It was an incredible experience in my life to have been in such a well-rounded film… My life goal has always been to help others who are struggling to find meaning to her life, just like the angel Clarence in the movie, who helps George,” she declared. In 1964, Jeanine Ann Rose married Eugene Richard Auger. They had an only son, Joe, who survives her.

Some members of the cast of  ¡Qué bello es vivir! , as Karolyn Grimes (Zuzu Bailey, one of the daughters of James Stewart ), and Jimmy Hawkins (Tommy Bailey, the youngest of the family).
