Jay Pickett

Being a western the film he was shooting, it seems appropriate to say that the actor Jay Pickett has died with his boots on, since he was on the set working on horseback when he was surprised by death.

He wasn’t much of a well-known actor, but at 60, Jay Pickett had built a solid career as a series actor, as well as having made a few forays on the big screen. Precisely the movie he was shooting, Treasure Valley , was proof that he wanted to continue growing as a filmmaker, because in addition to starring in it, he was the author of the script. It was his second script for a feature film, since he had previously co-signed Soda Springs (2012), also a kind of contemporary western, where he was the lead actor alongside Tom Skerrit.

Jay Pickett was born in Spokane, Washington, although he had grown up in the state of Idaho. His desire for education led him to Boise State University and UCLA. On television he had a regular character in the series Days of Our Lives , Port Charles and General Hospital , while he appeared in occasional episodes of Dexter , The Mentalist and Desperate Housewives . In cinema, he has films with little impact, such as Abandoned , Trapped in the net and Accusations and lies .

Travis Mills, producer, wrote on Facebook that it “sounds like a heart attack” and “we are sorry for his family who will be devastated by this unexpected tragedy.” Jim Heffel, co-starring with Pickett in Treasure Valley , commented that “I lose a good friend and the world loses a wonderful person. Jay Pickett decided to ride into the sky.”
