Born in April 1976, his mother is María Edite Santos, a Portuguese dancer who got a contract as a dancer in a nightclub on the Costa Brava. In 1975 he met Julio Iglesias who, according to her, was captivated by her beauty. As a result of that passion, he assures that he became pregnant and that’s where Javier came into the world.

Although she has been very sure that the son she had was from the singer, she did not make it public until the young man was 13 years old. It was at that time that she began to be on the cover of magazines, she starred in television programs and even published a book entitled A son with Julio Iglesias.

Javier Santos dropped out when he finished third in BUP and decided to start working as a musician, specifically he had a fleeting career as a singer. In 1999 he came to publish the album ‘Lucha y verás’, which sold 250,000 copies and became a gold record. Later, interest in him as a singer plummeted while Enrique Iglesias’ career skyrocketed.

A TRUE GLOBETROTTER

His life has not been easy at all, since his professional resume has many pages. He moved to Cuba, where he delivered medicine and cleaned cars until he could move to Miami. While meeting his brothers Julio José and Enrique, Javier installed awnings and worked as a salesperson.

In Hollywood he managed to settle down and became the mixologist at a well-known Latino venue where many celebrities passed, but in 2007 his American dream was broken. At the age of 32, he was deported and had to return to Valencia, with his mother.

The illegitimate son of Julio Iglesias currently lives in the popular Ruzafa neighborhood with his wife Chiara and their daughter Angélica, born in 2020. The couple married in 2016 in Sardinia, where she is from.

WHAT DOES JAVIER SANTOS, THE SON OF JULIO IGLESIAS, WORK ON

The pandemic was a hard time for his economy, since his business consists of two bed&breakfasts, one in Valencia and the other in Sardinia, and which he had to close during the hardest months.

More as a hobby than for work, Javier is still linked to music, but in very different styles from his father and his brothers. It is common to see him play in electronic music clubs.
